Luke 2:41-52

Incident of Mary and Joseph going to Jerusalem

Every year Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for the Passover Festival.

When Jesus was 12 years old, they went to the festival as usual.

When they started back home, Jesus stayed behind. Mary and J thought he was with the group traveling back.

They looked for him among friends and relatives after traveling a whole day

They went back to Jerusalem and on the 3rd day found him among the Jewish teachers in the Temple, listening to the teachers and asking questions

All who heard him were amazed at his intelligent answers

Mary and J were astonished when they saw him. Mary asked Jesus why he had done this to them because they had been terribly worried trying to find him.

And Jesus answered, “why did you have to look for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

Mary and J did not understand his answer

Jesus went back with his parents to Nazareth and remained obedient to them and Mary treasured all these things in her heart.

Jesus grew both in body and wisdom and in favor with God and men.
